Biography

Aleksandar Antonov Tonev, from Bulgarian origin. He is a professional football player born 3rd of February 1990 in Elin Pelin, Bulgaria. He is 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) tall and belongs to the recently Italian club promoted to the Serie A, Frosinone Calcio playing as a midfielder. He has a 1.168.000? wage annually.

Aleksandar Tonev started his career in PFC CSKA Sofia in 2008. He was raised in CSKA Sofia's youth teams. H edebuted with the first team on 8 March 2008 playing a match against Belasitsa Petrick, whose result was a 3-1 victory. Tonev replaced Chigozie Udoji in that game.

Under Lyuboslav Penev, replacing Dimitar Penev, Tonev had more appearances in the squad, replacing other players during the game. For the 09-10 season, the Bulgarian winger was loaned to OFC Sliven 2000, team that played the Bulgarian second division at the time. He just scored 1 goal in 23 appearances. Later, in the next season, Tonev returned to Sofia.

Between 2011-2013, Tonev switched the Bulgarian League for the Polish one. At Lech Poznan, the winger made his debut in a 5-0 win over LKS Lodz. Tonev substututed Jakub Wilk in the 75th minute. On 26 July 2012, Aleksandar Tonev netted his first ever European goal in a European League match against the Azerbaijani club Khazar Lankaran in the second qialifying round. The result of the game was 1-0 at home.

On 7 June 2013, Tonev signed a 4-years contract for the British club Aston Villa. After one season, Tonev was loaned to the historical Scottish club Celtic FC. After 14 appearances with the Scottish club, Tonev signed for the new Serie A squad Frosinone for one year deal.

The Bulgaria national football team also capped Aleksandar Tonev and making his debut in a 0-1 home loss against Wales on 11 October 2011. It is worth highlighting that on 9 February 2011, Tonev scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 home win against Malta in the World Cup 2014 qualifying match.

Aleksandar Tonev contributed to achieve all these titles throughout his career: 1 Bulgarian Cup, 1 Bulgarian Supercup and 1 A Group with CSKA Sofia.
