Robin Van Persie
Robin van Persie (born 6 August 1983, Rotterdam, Netherlands), is a Dutch footballer who plays as a striker for Turkish team Fenerbahce and the Dutch national team.
Van Perise began his carrer with the youth system of Fetenoord where he spent three seasons and won the 2002 UEFA Cup. He was named the Dutch Football Talent of the Year for the 2001-€“02 season. In 2004 he joined Arsenal where he became the captain in 2011. While with Arsenal Van Persie won the FA Community Shield and the FA Cup. Van Persie has been named Premier League Player of the Month three times. In 2012, Van Persie was ranked 7th in The Guardian's list of 100 Best Footballers in the world. In 2011 Van Persie signed a contract with Arsenal's major rivals: Manchester United. After 3 years of ups and downs regarding the team but great performances from the Dutch striker, Van Persie moved to an inferior ligue like the Turkish Ligue to sign for the club from Istanbul, Fenerbahce.
Van Persie made his debut with the national team in 2005 in a match against Finland. He has also represented his country in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2008, the 2010 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 World Cup. On 7 June 2013, Van Persie was appointed captain of the Dutch national team.
